Drying wood is one of the most important stages in its processing, directly influencing the quality, stability, and longevity of the final product. At SARAL, we dry wood under controlled conditions, using modern drying chambers that maintain optimal temperature and humidity.
This process reduces the wood’s moisture content to ideal levels for use in construction, furniture, or finished products, thereby preventing cracking, warping, or other defects caused by uncontrolled natural drying.
Through our supplier network, we can procure, on demand, any wood species. Cutting capacity of 60 m³/day for logs up to 90 cm in diameter.
We offer professional drying services both for our own wood and for wood supplied by clients. We can tailor drying cycles based on specifications, species, and intended use — whether for construction, furniture, flooring, or technical applications.

Why is wood drying important?
Proper wood drying is essential to ensure dimensional stability, prevent defects, and extend the lifespan of the final product. Improperly dried wood may shrink, crack, or warp over time, compromising the integrity of the finished project.
By reducing moisture content to optimal levels, wood becomes more resistant to microbial attack, has uniform density, and behaves predictably during processing and use. This step is crucial before any finishing or transformation process.
Controlled process, guaranteed results
In our facilities, we use drying chambers with automated control of temperature, humidity, and air circulation. The process can take from a few days up to several weeks, depending on wood species, thickness, and final application.
We monitor each cycle to ensure the wood dries uniformly and gradually, without internal stresses. This way, we provide our clients with semi-finished and finished products that meet the highest quality standards.
